RECONSTRUCTING HUMAN POTENTIAL
Among young children are potential philosophers, artists, writers, entrepreneurs, craftspersons – people who will create, who will constitute, who will continue our world’s culturally rich and unique traditions.
Creativity, the active ingredient in innovation, is a mindset, a way of responding to the world, a skill set. It is, importantly, something that individuals can learn and develop. It is the act of seeing things that everyone around us sees while making connections that no one else has made. Creativity is moving from the known to exploring the unknown. It is something that really must be learned by those who will live through the unpredictable challenges of the future.
Simply stated, our times have us facing an increased degree of change which is coming at us at a rapidly increasing pace. Along with changes come problems, a lot of which now require new responses to surmount them. What sort of problems? Economic, political, health, medical – we are facing new problems in every corner of our lives. Creativity is a quality that individuals will need to apply towards solving these woes. We believe that it is possible to create thousands of entrepreneurs tomorrow by instilling the entrepreneurial and creative mindset and developing the relevant skill-set in children today. Our research and experience have shown that innovators and entrepreneurs can be nurtured from a very young age.
The Thinkerlabs creative and entrepreneurial mindset framework resolves to do what’s necessary and support educators and children in this crucially essential, yet often under recognised mission.
